Private Tour of the USS Constitution
2:00pm on Monday, May 18, 2026 at the USS Constitution Museum
The USS Constitution Museum (USSCM) has extended members of the BOCNE an invitation for a private tour of the USSCM and the USS Constitution. This tour will open up access to areas not normally accessible to members of the public and, once again, we are indebted to BOCNE member Mike Manning for arranging this event for us.
To begin the tour, the group will meet at the ground level of the USSCM. Once assembled, we'll make our way upstairs into the archives/vault where we will inspect/view vintage diaries, weapons, documents, and other artifacts presently not on display to the public. This unique "behind-the-scenes" tour will explore this space for approximately an hour. After this, we'll make our way downstairs and across the yard to the ship. We will explore all decks of the ship: spar (main), gun, berthing, and orlop (the orlop is not open to the public) examining the lives and work of the officers, sailors and marines on board "Old Ironsides".
Since the ship has tight quarters and spaces, we can only accommodate a total of 15 people for this tour. Spaces will be allocated on a "first come - first served" basis and are limited to a maximum of two people per member.
The tour will take place on Monday, May 18th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The tour charge is $50 per person, which is the USSCM (discounted) member rate. The USSCM is a certified 501c3 charitable organization.
